About Lignique

We're building the comic tool we always wished existed.

Lignique is a continuity-first workspace for making comics with AI a place where your characters, style, and locations stay consistent from the first reference to the final page. It's built for storytellers, not just image generators.

Our mission

To make consistent visual storytelling possible for everyone not just studios with big teams and bigger budgets.

Continuity first

Consistency isn't a nice-to-have for comics it's the whole point. We design for it before anything else.

Made for storytellers

You shouldn't need to be a prompt engineer to tell a story. Plain language and real references are enough.

Creator-owned work

Your characters and your stories are yours. We're here to help you finish them, not replace you.

Why Lignique was built

AI could make beautiful images. It couldn't make a comic.

We kept running into the same wall: the tools were incredible at single, isolated images but the moment you needed the same character, style, and world across many panels, everything fell apart. So we built the missing piece.

The problems we kept hitting

  • Characters drifted a little more with every panel, until they barely matched.
  • Art styles wandered, so a single project never felt like one book.
  • Locations and props changed every time you returned to them.
  • Fixing one detail meant regenerating everything and losing what worked.

Origin story

Every good comic has an origin. So does this one.

1
Panel 1

The spark

It started with a simple frustration: we wanted to tell a longer story in pictures, but every AI tool forgot our characters the moment we moved to the next panel.

2
Panel 2

The first prototype

We hacked together a rough workflow that pinned a character's look in place. Crude, but for the first time a character survived from one panel to the next.

3
Panel 3

The continuity breakthrough

Character Lock led to Style Lock, then Location and Prop Lock. Suddenly whole pages held together and it felt less like generating images and more like making a comic.

Today: an open beta

Lignique is now a continuity-first workspace, opening up to early creators. This is the beginning of the story and you're early enough to help shape it.

Jayadevan Premnath created Lignique to solve a recurring problem in AI-assisted visual storytelling: keeping characters, style, locations, props, and panel flow consistent across a story. Lignique is built from the perspective of a creator who wants AI to support storytelling, not replace creative direction.
