IMPORTANT NOTICE — Lignique gives eligible users broad commercial rights to use Outputs and assigns any transferable economic rights that Lignique itself owns, but Lignique cannot grant rights owned by model providers, training-data rightsholders, people depicted in content or other third parties. AI Outputs may be non-unique, unprotectable by copyright, inaccurate or similar to existing material. You must review, label and clear content before publication or commercial use.

1. Scope, incorporation and order of precedence

This AI Output and IP Responsibility Policy ("Policy") applies when a person uses Lignique's website, app, prompt tools, image or comic generation, editing, export, storage, subscription, credit or related support service (collectively, the "Service"). It applies to Inputs, prompts, uploads, project materials, AI-assisted content, Outputs, edits, exports and publication through or using the Service.

This Policy forms part of the Lignique Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). Mandatory law controls first. A confirmed checkout term controls only the specific transaction it expressly addresses. The Terms control general account, payment, warranty, liability, dispute and governing-law issues. This Policy controls the more specific rules for Inputs, Outputs, synthetic-content compliance and intellectual-property responsibility. The Privacy Policy controls personal-data processing. If provisions cannot reasonably be harmonised, the provision that preserves mandatory rights and gives the more specific protection for the issue applies.

A capitalised term not defined here has the meaning given in the Terms. Use of the Service after this Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law; material changes are handled under Section 29.

3. What the Service does — and does not do

Lignique provides tools that help users create and edit comics, illustrations, text and related materials. AI systems predict and synthesise content; they do not understand facts, ownership, consent, reputation or legal context in the way a qualified human professional does. Output can contain errors, artefacts, bias, invented facts, unexpected similarities or content that a user did not request.

• Lignique does not act as your lawyer, rights-clearance service, publisher, talent agent, fact-checker or insurer.
• A generation, moderation decision, similarity check or export is not a legal opinion, title report, trademark clearance or warranty of non-infringement.
• You must apply human review appropriate to the intended audience, subject, territory, risk and commercial value.
• You must not rely on Output for high-impact medical, legal, financial, employment, education, housing, credit, insurance, public-safety or government decisions.

4. Ownership of Inputs and user-authored material

As between you and Lignique, you retain the Intellectual Property Rights you already hold in your Inputs, original dialogue, scripts, layouts, edits and other User Content. Submitting content does not transfer ownership to Lignique except for the limited operational licence in Section 5.

You may submit content only if you own it or have every licence, permission, consent and lawful basis necessary for Lignique and its AI Providers to process it as described. Ownership of a copy, purchase of a stock asset or public availability online does not necessarily include a right to train, transform, depict, publish or commercially exploit it.

5. Limited licence to process Inputs

You grant Lignique a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, cache, reproduce, transmit, format, adapt and otherwise process User Content only to: (a) provide the feature you request; (b) route content to contracted AI, cloud, payment, security or support providers; (c) maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the operation of the Service without training a foundation model on your content unless Section 20 is changed; (d) enforce the Terms and this Policy; (e) investigate abuse or complaints; and (f) comply with law.

Lignique may sublicense this limited licence only to providers and personnel who need it for those purposes and are subject to appropriate obligations. The licence ends when the purpose and retention period end, except for lawful backups, security records, complaint evidence and material Lignique must retain to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The licence does not give Lignique a right to sell your content or use it in advertising without separate permission.

6. Rights granted in Outputs

Subject to your payment of applicable fees, compliance with the Terms and this Policy, provider restrictions, third-party rights and mandatory law, Lignique grants you a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, combine, publish, display, perform, distribute, market and commercially exploit Outputs generated specifically for your Account.

To the extent Lignique owns or becomes the prospective owner of transferable economic Intellectual Property Rights in an Output generated specifically for your Account, Lignique assigns those rights to you for the full term of the rights, throughout the world, with the benefit of renewals, reversions and extensions. The assignment is supported by your acceptance of the Terms and, for paid features, payment of the applicable price. It includes the right to create derivative works and to authorise others to exercise the assigned rights.

The applicable subscription, credit or transaction price is the full contractual consideration and royalty for that assignment, subject to any non-waivable statutory remuneration. Your electronic acceptance record is intended to satisfy a writing or signature requirement to the extent electronic-transactions law permits.

This licence and assignment do not include: (a) the Lignique name, marks, software, user interface, templates expressly identified as Lignique materials, safety systems or documentation; (b) rights owned by an AI Provider or another person; (c) third-party material contained in or resembled by an Output; (d) non-transferable moral, personality, publicity, privacy or performer rights; or (e) a promise that any right exists or can be registered in a particular country.

NO "YOU OWN EVERYTHING" SHORTCUT — The legally accurate position is: you retain your Input rights; you receive broad contractual Output rights from Lignique; and Lignique assigns only rights it actually owns and can transfer. Third-party rights, copyrightability and legal clearance remain separate questions.

7. Copyrightability and human authorship

Copyright and similar protection for AI-assisted work differs by country and can change. In the United States, copyright generally protects original human-authored expression; prompts alone ordinarily do not establish authorship of raw AI-generated elements. Human-written dialogue, hand-drawn material, selective editing, creative arrangement, sequencing, cropping, compositing and other sufficiently original human contributions may be protectable even when an underlying generated element is not.

You are responsible for accurately describing human and AI contributions in any registration, platform submission, client statement or legal filing. Do not claim exclusive copyright in material you know is entirely machine generated if the relevant authority requires human authorship. Keep drafts, prompts, edit histories, source files and notes if provenance or authorship may matter.

Lignique does not promise that an Output can be registered, enforced or licensed exclusively. The rights granted in Section 6 remain contractual rights between you and Lignique even where copyright does not arise, but those contractual rights cannot bind an unrelated third party who independently creates similar material.

8. Non-uniqueness, similarity and exclusivity

AI systems can generate identical or similar material for different users, and common prompts, concepts, genres, compositions, poses, colour schemes, stock phrases and visual conventions can recur. Other users may receive similar Outputs. Lignique does not reserve a prompt, style, character concept, composition or Output exclusively for you and does not promise secrecy for prompts submitted to a shared AI Provider beyond the contractual and privacy safeguards described in the Privacy Policy.

Before significant commercial use, perform an appropriate similarity, copyright, trademark, design, publicity and marketplace search. The level of review should increase for logos, mascots, packaging, advertising, merchandise, major publications, public figures and high-value client work.

9. AI Provider terms and model rights

Some features rely on an AI Provider. Provider terms, technical limitations and content rules can affect generation and retention. Lignique is responsible for presenting provider restrictions that materially affect your use before or when the feature is used. You must comply with any clearly disclosed provider restriction that applies to your request.

Lignique does not transfer ownership of an AI Provider's models, weights, code, safety classifiers, system prompts, confidential methods or service marks. You must not attempt to extract models, bypass controls, reverse engineer protected systems, obtain another user's data or use automated means beyond the Service's permitted interfaces.

10. Commercial use and professional clearance

Commercial Use is permitted under Section 6, but permission from Lignique is not a substitute for clearance of third-party rights or regulated claims. Before publication or delivery to a client, you must review the intended use, territory, audience and distribution channel.

• Confirm that you own or licensed all Inputs and reference material for the intended use.
• Check the Output for protected characters, artwork, logos, trade dress, photographs, celebrity likenesses and recognisable private individuals.
• Verify factual, medical, legal, financial, scientific, historical and biographical claims using reliable independent sources.
• Obtain model, property, publicity, performer, trademark, music, stock-asset and other releases where reasonably required.
• Follow advertising, consumer-protection, competition, election, accessibility, age-rating and platform rules for the target market.
• Preserve mandatory AI disclosures, metadata and provenance information.

11. Your warranties for Inputs and instructions

Each time you submit an Input or instruction, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are at least 18 and have authority to use the Account; (b) you own or have sufficient rights and consents for the requested processing and intended use; (c) the Input and requested Output do not knowingly violate law, contract, confidentiality, privacy, publicity or Intellectual Property Rights; (d) you will not misrepresent authority, identity, endorsement or authenticity; and (e) you will comply with the Terms, this Policy, applicable provider rules and mandatory law.

Do not submit trade secrets, privileged material, government identifiers, payment-card data, authentication secrets, health records or other sensitive information unless the feature expressly supports it, the disclosure is lawful and necessary, and the Privacy Policy describes the processing.

12. Real people, likeness, voice and digital replicas

You must not create, request, upload, publish or commercially exploit a realistic depiction, voice imitation or digital replica of a person without a lawful basis and any consent required for the intended territory and use. Extra care is required for minors, private individuals, public officials, performers, deceased persons whose rights survive, and persons in intimate, violent, medical, political, financial or reputational contexts.

• Do not create or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery or sexualised content involving a real or identifiable person.
• Do not impersonate a person to obtain money, credentials, access, votes, employment, services or another benefit.
• Do not falsely depict a person as committing a crime, making a statement, endorsing a product, participating in sexual conduct or experiencing a sensitive event.
• Do not use a person's likeness in advertising or merchandise without the permissions required by applicable publicity, personality, passing-off or endorsement law.
• Where lawful parody, satire, commentary, newsworthiness or public-interest use may apply, use a clear disclosure and obtain professional advice when risk is material.

13. Brands, characters, logos and source material

Do not assume that a request is lawful because it names a famous brand, fictional character, franchise, artwork, photograph, logo, product design or public figure. An Output can infringe or create confusion even when generated rather than copied pixel-for-pixel. Fair use, fair dealing, parody, nominative use and similar exceptions are fact-specific and differ by country.

You are responsible for trademark and passing-off review before using an Output as a brand name, logo, mascot, product appearance, advertising asset or source identifier. Lignique may refuse or limit prompts that seek confusing replicas, counterfeit materials, false endorsements or removal of ownership marks.

14. Style references and creators

An artistic style may not itself be protected in the same way as a particular work, but a style request can still create legal, contractual, ethical or marketplace risk — especially when it targets a living creator, reproduces distinctive protected elements, implies endorsement or is used at scale to substitute for commissioned work. Lignique may transform, block or ask you to reframe a request for a confusingly close imitation.

Use descriptive visual attributes — such as medium, lighting, line weight, palette, era and composition — rather than asking for an exact imitation of a living creator. You remain responsible for the final Output and its use.

15. Prohibited uses

In addition to restrictions in the Terms and applicable provider rules, you must not use the Service to create, facilitate or distribute:

• Child sexual abuse material, sexual content involving a minor, grooming, sexual extortion or content that exploits a child.
• Non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual deepfakes, voyeuristic material or content intended to humiliate or coerce an identifiable person.
• Fraud, phishing, identity theft, credential theft, forged official documents, fake evidence, counterfeit goods or deceptive impersonation.
• Instructions that meaningfully facilitate weapons construction, explosives, malicious code, violent wrongdoing, evasion of safeguards or other serious harm.
• Unlawful hate, harassment, stalking, threats, doxxing, incitement, terrorist content or targeted abuse.
• Defamatory factual claims presented as true, materially deceptive political or election content, or fabricated news likely to cause public harm.
• Content that infringes Intellectual Property Rights, violates confidentiality, unlawfully processes personal data or breaches a court, regulator or government order.
• High-impact automated decisions, unlawful biometric categorisation, social scoring or other uses prohibited or restricted by applicable AI law.

A lawful purpose in one country may be unlawful in another. The stricter applicable rule controls when content is created in, directed to or distributed into multiple territories.

16. Safety review, moderation and appeals

Lignique and its AI Providers may use automated classifiers, rate limits, blocklists, metadata analysis and human review to prevent abuse, protect users and comply with law. These controls can make mistakes. Lignique does not promise to review every Input or Output and does not endorse content merely because a generation succeeds.

Lignique may refuse a request, withhold an Output, remove access, preserve evidence, suspend an Account or report conduct where reasonably necessary. When law permits, a user may request review of a material moderation decision by contacting Lignique with the Account email, generation or project identifier, date, decision and concise explanation. Lignique may deny an appeal that would disclose confidential security methods, another person's data or prohibited content.

17. Synthetic-content labels, provenance and disclosure

Where law requires, Lignique will implement appropriate machine-readable marking, metadata, provenance information, visible labels or unique identifiers before making the affected generation feature available in the relevant market. The implementation must be effective, interoperable, robust and reliable to the extent technically feasible and proportionate to the content and system.

You must preserve, reproduce and display mandatory labels or provenance information when downloading, editing, publishing or redistributing Synthetic Content. You must not intentionally remove, conceal, falsify or enable others to remove a legally required label, watermark, metadata record or unique identifier. Normal resizing, compression or format conversion is allowed only if required information remains available or is restored before distribution.

18. Your publication and disclosure duties

Before making Synthetic Content public, determine whether a reasonable viewer could mistake it for a real person, event, statement, document, product claim or news report. Use a clear, proximate and accessible disclosure when law, platform rules, client requirements or the risk of deception calls for one. A buried hashtag or metadata-only disclosure may be insufficient for a realistic deepfake.

If content is substantially edited after export, you remain responsible for maintaining required provenance and accurately describing the final work. Do not attribute a statement, endorsement, signature, official status or evidence to a person or institution without authority.

19. Accuracy, bias and accessibility

Review Outputs for factual error, stereotype, exclusion, cultural or religious sensitivity, anatomical or textual artefacts, unsafe instructions and accessibility. Images can contain distorted text, symbols, hands, uniforms, maps, historical details or culturally significant material. Generated text can invent citations, quotations and events. Verify before relying or publishing.

For public content, consider meaningful alternative text, captions, colour contrast, reading order and audience-appropriate warnings. Lignique's automated suggestions do not replace an accessibility review.

20. Training, improvement and provider retention

At the Effective Date, Lignique does not use Inputs or Outputs to train its own foundation model. Lignique uses OpenAI API services where identified; API content is not used by OpenAI to train its models unless the API customer affirmatively opts in. Lignique does not opt your API content into provider training without separate, prominent notice and any consent required by law.

AI Providers may temporarily retain content for abuse monitoring, service operation, legal compliance or endpoint-specific application state as described in the Privacy Policy and the provider's applicable enterprise or API terms. Default provider abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days unless a different approved configuration or legal need applies. Lignique minimises content sent to providers and applies the retention settings described in the Privacy Policy.

If Lignique proposes to use identifiable Inputs or Outputs for model training, public examples, marketing or a materially new improvement purpose, Lignique will first update the relevant notice and obtain any required permission. A user may separately submit feedback; feedback may be used to improve the Service, but Lignique will not treat feedback as permission to publish confidential project content.

21. Privacy and personal information

Inputs and Outputs can contain personal information. The Privacy Policy explains the controller, data categories, purposes, legal bases, providers, transfers, retention, security and individual rights. You must have a lawful basis for personal information you submit and must not use the Service to evade an individual's privacy, publicity, biometric or data-protection rights.

Lignique does not warrant that generated people are fictitious or unidentifiable. If an Output unexpectedly resembles a real person, stop publication, investigate and edit or regenerate it as appropriate.

23. Complaints, rights notices and takedown requests

A rightsholder, depicted person or authorised representative may report allegedly infringing, unlawful, intimate, impersonating, defamatory or deceptive content using the contact details in Section 30. The notice should include:

• The complainant's name, authority and reliable contact details.
• The right, person or legal interest affected and the territory in which it is asserted.
• A precise URL, project or generation identifier, screenshot and description sufficient to locate the material.
• A concise explanation of why the material is unlawful or unauthorised and any supporting registration, order, consent record or identity evidence.
• A good-faith statement that the information is accurate and the complaint is authorised.

Lignique may request verification, notify the affected user when lawful, restrict access while investigating, preserve evidence and act on a valid counter-notice or court order. Lignique will not disclose a user's personal information to a complainant without consent, lawful process or another legal basis.

24. Urgent and legally mandated action

Lignique prioritises reports involving child safety, non-consensual intimate imagery, credible threats, dangerous impersonation, active fraud and valid court or government orders. Where Indian intermediary rules apply to the matter and to Lignique's role, Lignique aims to acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 7 days; act within the shorter period required for specified intimate or impersonation content; and comply with applicable lawful-order timelines. Other mandatory local timelines remain unaffected.

For an immediate threat to life or safety, contact local emergency services first. Lignique is not an emergency-response service.

25. Enforcement and evidence preservation

Lignique may apply a proportionate warning, generation block, credit restriction, content hold, feature limit, suspension or termination for a violation or credible risk. In selecting a response, Lignique may consider severity, intent, repetition, vulnerability of affected persons, scale, remedial action and legal duties. Serious or unlawful conduct may result in immediate action without prior notice where permitted.

Lignique may preserve prompts, Outputs, identifiers, logs, consent records and complaint material when reasonably necessary for security, investigation, legal process or claims. Preservation is not a promise to retain content for the user. You are responsible for lawful backups of project material you need.

26. Warranties and disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI features and Outputs are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Lignique disclaims implied warranties of accuracy, originality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability and legal eligibility for a specific use. Lignique does not warrant that an Output is unique, copyrightable, registrable, factually correct, free from bias or acceptable to a platform, client, regulator or court.

Nothing in this Policy excludes a warranty, remedy or liability that mandatory consumer law does not permit Lignique to exclude. Any express service commitment in a confirmed checkout term applies only to that transaction and does not create an intellectual-property clearance warranty unless it says so expressly.

27. Indemnity and responsibility allocation

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Lignique, its proprietor, contractors and service providers from third-party claims, losses, damages, penalties and reasonable costs arising from your Inputs, instructions, publication or use of Outputs, breach of your warranties, violation of law or infringement of another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Lignique's wilful misconduct, fraud, breach of this Policy or modification of content after your final submission without your authorisation.

Lignique will give reasonable notice of a covered claim, allow you to participate in the defence and not agree to a settlement that admits your fault or imposes a non-monetary obligation on you without reasonable consultation. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits Lignique's fault or imposes an obligation on Lignique without written consent. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

28. Liability, disputes and governing terms

The limitations of liability, exclusions, claim procedure, governing law, forum, consumer-rights savings and dispute provisions in the Terms apply to this Policy. Nothing here expands a limitation that mandatory law prohibits or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or another category that cannot lawfully be limited.

29. Changes, versioning and continued use

Lignique may update this Policy for a legal, provider, model, safety or Service change. The revised Policy will show a new Last Updated date and version. Lignique will provide prominent advance notice when a change materially reduces an existing Output right, expands use of Inputs, introduces foundation-model training, or materially changes a user's publication obligations, unless immediate action is required by law or urgent safety risk. A change does not retroactively take rights already granted in a paid Output except where mandatory law, fraud or a third-party right requires action.

If you do not agree to a prospective material change, stop using the affected feature and follow the cancellation or account-deletion options in the applicable policies. Rights and duties that by nature should survive — including granted licences, assignments, payment obligations, disclaimers, indemnities, evidence preservation and dispute terms — survive termination to the extent lawful.

30. Contact, grievance officer and notices

Send AI safety reports, intellectual-property notices, digital-replica complaints, appeals and legal questions to the contact below. Use a subject such as "Urgent Safety Report", "IP Notice", "Digital Replica Complaint" or "Moderation Appeal". Do not send passwords, payment-card data or unnecessary sensitive material.

Operator and contact details

Lignique may respond using the Account email or another verified address. Submitting a complaint does not create an attorney-client relationship, transfer ownership or guarantee removal. Lignique will act within applicable mandatory time limits and may request additional information needed for a fair and lawful decision.

Lignique must keep its actual website, app, consent controls, provider configuration, labels, retention settings and support practices consistent with the statements in this document. A policy cannot cure an implementation that behaves differently.
